The Scavengers are first mentioned when Davidge, searching for help after crash-landing on Fyrine IV, finds evidence of humans but learns the planet has only periodically been visited by human miners known as Scavengers who use Dracs as slave labor. Later in the film, a pair of Scavengers, including their leader Stubbs, discover Zammis, the child of Davidge's Drac friend Jeriba. When Davidge attacks the men to protect Zammis, he kills one, but Zammis inadvertently stands between Davidge and Stubbs, and Davidge is gunned down. The Scavengers are shown operating a facility where they keep Drac slaves. Davidge later sneaks aboard their ship and enters their facility, fighting off the Scavengers while the Drac slaves revolt. The slaves are assisted by the BTA crew who pursued Davidge's stolen ship. Davidge is nearly killed by Stubbs but is saved when one of the Drac slaves shoots Stubbs instead. Davidge and Zammis then reunite and return to the Drac homeworld with the freed Dracs.
